As I lay here (my Husband snoring) I ponder the mysteries of the universe.  Tonight, I wonder how we connect… really connect.

I can open Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc, but am I really connecting or am I consuming. What am I consuming? Mostly, I am consuming paid ads and push content. There are a few posts from  people but not much.

If I need to communicate. where do I go?  How do I connect? Where do I share my product or plan a Birthday party? Hint, it isn’t Facebook.

We have become so social media dependent that I am not even sure if we know how to function without it.  I know we can’t run a business without it.  Yet, we continue to return hoping it will work like it once did. It all reminds me of the book “Who Moved My Cheese”.  The cheese has moved my friends.

What’s a modern entrepreneur to do? Yes, post high quality content, lean into reels, be consistent etc. Also, go old school. Build an email list. Send a high value e-zine quarterly. Build a text list (Project Broadcast is my favorite). Text them thank you after they order. Text Happy Birthday on their Birthday. Use it judiciously and plug them back into your social media platforms to strengthen the connection there.
