Yoga for Self Care

Happy Self Care Sunday!
I have been on a serious health and wellness journey for about the past 2 years. I have discovered a number of things during that time. I wanted to talk about yoga today. I know, I know… Michelle, I can’t bend that way… it’s boring … I don’t have time.

That was me. I was stressed, couldn’t sleep, sore and dealing with anxiety. Yoga videos on YouTube made no sense for me. Then I discovered true Eastern based yoga (through a mindfulness course). It clicked.

Yoga isn’t about bending yourself in half or impossible positions. It can be gentle, slight movements timed to your breath. It is the union of mind, body and spirit. The slowed breathing and focus on your movements helps to calm the mind and drop your body into “rest and digest”.

Daily practice is healing and preventative. I can tell when I get “too” busy. My body and my brain remind me. While nothing is a fix all, this ancient art could change your life.

There are so many great teachers and some YouTubers that really get it. I have some great resources in TN and a few people that I follow nationally. Message me if you need some direction.
