Summer Sales Tips Building Social Media Relationships

Relationships are essential to your success on social media.  This advice may seem elementary to some but it completely escapes others.  It is almost as if we have forgotten what networking truly means.  It isn’t telling others what you do.  It is building a network of engaged people. Perhaps we think the rules changes when computers entered into the equation.  People are people wherever you go and however you choose to connect.  Here are some basic  do’s and don’ts of social media relationship building or networking!

Do
Get to know them
Send a friendly message
Ask about their business. their Summer, their kids
Find common interests to build the relationship on
Take a peek at their wall
Like some of their posts and pictures
Be patient and wait before bringing up business

Don’t
Immediately friend them and add them to a group
Immediately friend them and send them a 3 paragraph message about your business
Mention your business or product in the first message you send
Tag them in promotional posts
Allow every message to be related to your business

Social media success is crockpot cooking, not microwave.  Slow down.  In addition to building your business, you will make some great friends
