It is hard to imagine that with school barely back in session, it time to take a good hard look at your fall sales and training strategy. At a direct selling company, your sales force is always divided. They are stay at home moms who work from the chaos of the kitchen table: they are working parents juggling work, kids and business; they are college students balancing social life and academic obligations. Life has a way of pushing their business to the back burner with its school supply lists, teacher conferences, football and fall decorating. In that sea of activity, is their direct sales business. They also just came off of a possibly disappointing and sluggish Summer. It is so easy for them to be dis-engaged this time of year. It is up to the field leadership and internal sales team to breathe life back into their business!
As the leaves change and the smell of pumpkin spice invades our daily lives, ask yourself “What are we doing to re-engage the team”. New product is NOT enough. A new catalog is not enough. The process needs to be romanced. It needs to feel like Christmas morning… fresh…new and full of magic!
The next two months set up your holiday selling season. If your team isn’t already in the swing of things, it is time to get them caught up. In this very cyclical business, October is already too late to build a stellar Q4. A strong September builds into a strong October and and even stronger November. A short selling month in December requires a proactive plan.
A well planned contests that drives the right behaviors coupled with a guest led training series is a fail proof way to refocus your team. A short term reward + solid training topics + a fresh voice = renewed energy!
Turn Fall into your season of success!
