We all start out as products of our environment. We all come from a family of origin. That is our beginning community.  It shapes our belief systems and our thought processes. Those thought processes shape our future. My family of origin came from poor Southern farmers where life was very much hand to mouth. No one had time to think about the purpose of life let alone personal evolution. Good, solid people who I dearly love. I learned many lessons from that community … hard work… honest labor… integrity… stewardship of the land. In spite of all those lessons there was one they could not teach me.  I did not learn to dream.

As a young teen, I began to dream that there was more. I dreamt of a time when I controlled my future and could be anything that I wanted. I dreamt of possibilities, a life of purpose and of fulfillment. I believed that I was put here for a reason and I was required to discover that purpose. I read books and went to college trying to grow beyond my circumstance. I had a burning desire to be “better” than I was.

In my late teens, direct selling stepped in to fill that need for growth. I was exposed to great speakers and mentors. It truly changed my life and reshaped my belief systems.  As I learned the lessons my mentors had to teach, I looked for more. That pursuit of “more” lead me to obtain three coaching certifications in addition to the vast lessons of direct selling.  I am still on a path to my “better”.

Each day, I am blessed to use the lessons of my life to help others on their journey to be “more”… to help them find their “better” and to wrestle all the joy possible from this thing called life.   I do that through the amazing calling of coaching.
