If you want your business to pay like a business, you have to treat it like a business.
Over and over, I see three main areas where entrepreneurs sabotage their businesses.
1. Their daily agenda does not support their goals. They let the day plan itself. Success requires a schedule framework, specific tasks that build the business. It is too easy to hide out in the busy work. We can work 40 hours a week and never really accomplish anything. What are your key income producers? Are they represented in your daily agenda?
2. Too many entrepreneurs fail to track their clients and data capture. Without the right information, follow up is difficult and ineffective. Because they can’t follow up… they miss sales, bookings and new team members that fuel the business. Even if they do data capture, they often fail to stay in front of the client and make themselves memorable
3. They simply don’t have a handle on the metrics. They do not know what they are selling, what their conversion rates are or even what their real profit is. Many are shocked when it comes time for tax season because they haven’t been managing their profit and loss all year.
