Summer Gratitude

I was thinking about my Monday post all weekend. What can I say on Monday that will help set the tone for a great week for others? It’s hard to find something perfect sometimes.

This weekend, we indulged in one of the simple pleasures of summer… produce. A friend brought me gorgeous corn and peaches. We picked herbs and tomatoes from our small garden. We also made some amazing finds at the local farmers market including fresh picked flowers. All of these together created a rich bounty of colors, scents and textures. In that simple bounty was blessing, creativity and gratitude. We had fun making bright, beautiful dishes. We relished simple flavors as we listened to the summer thunderstorm. It was a great way to unplug and recharge for the upcoming week

This week’s Monday message is to find the joy in the simple pleasures around you. Summer is slipping away. What will you miss the most?
