Its no secret that I am a huge Chef Ramsey fan. At the heart of what he does is helping people be better than they are. That pursuit holds a very special place in my heart. This season launched Master Chef Junior. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a kids competition. The challenges are difficult, the drama is high and the world is watching.
The skill set of these children is incredible. I fancy myself a fair cook and I wouldn’t know how to begin to make half of that these dishes created by these 8-13 year olds. The real inspiration is in their attitudes. They have a nearly impossible challenge ahead of them. Their challenge is to cook a restaurant quality dish in under an hour that they conceive of and make without benefit of a recipe book! In the face of this challenge, they are {FEARLESS}. They race into the pantry {UNDAUNTED} by the task. They never panic. They are {POISED} and {SELF POSSESSED}!
Every show, someone must go home. That is how the show works. They eliminate chefs until only one is left standing. Sometimes there are a few tears during elimination, but they all hold their heads high and say “I will be back”… “You will see me again”… “This is not over”. Their resiliency is inspiring.
Next time the challenge is daunting or the results are less than you hoped… hold your head high, smile into the camera and say “I’ll be back and I’ll be better than ever”.
